October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the breast cancer awareness movement has played a pivotal role in both the cultural discussion around both cancer itself and treatment research. This helps stimulate billions of dollars in research that have led to incredible strides in treatment.
Throughout the month, we here at In Line will be sharing resources to help you learn the signs and symptoms of this disease. Furthermore, we will be participating in the virtual Susan B Komen Race for the Cure. Through fundraising and donations, the Komen foundation has funded over $4.2 million to local organizations that serve the people of Hawai‘i with life-saving breast health information, screening, treatment, and support services for those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.
This virtual event – newly deemed Race Where You Are – takes place on Sunday, October 11th. Upon the completion of this 6,000-step walk, the new Race For The Cure app awards each individual Virtual Finisher Medals. Join us from home, wear pink, and learn about and share all that you can about breast cancer.
